Andover mn Wedding

Andover is a city in Anoka County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 26,588 at the 2000 census.

Andover was the site of a large train wreck which common local myth incorrectly cites as the source of the name of the city. The popular yarn is that a typographical error in a local paper stated that the train rolled over Andover, thus the name.

Actually, the name Andover pre-dates the train wreck and is evidenced by train schedules listing "Andover Station" prior to the wreck.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 90.6 km (35.0 mi). 88.3 km (34.1 mi) of it is land and 2.3 km (0.9 mi) of it (2.49%) is water. Crooked Lake is the only fully recreational lake in Andover. It is on the south border of the city with the majority of the lake actually in Coon Rapids, MN.
